FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Northumberland County – March 16, 2022 – In honour of March for Meals and just in time for the Easter holiday, Community Care Northumberland will be selling Easter-themed cookie boxes in support of its Meals on Wheels program.

Each box, which contains individually wrapped and beautifully decorated Easter cookies from Roda’s Kitchen, and will be sold for $20.00 to support CCN’s Meals on Wheels program, which offers frozen and/or hot meal delivery to clients throughout Northumberland County.

“March, which is National Nutrition Month and the annual March for Meals Month, is a key time for us to raise awareness in our community about the importance of our Meals on Wheels program,” said Trish Baird, Chief Executive Officer of Community Care Northumberland. “While we are unable to gather with our local mayors, volunteers and others from the community for March for Meals this year, we are excited to run this cookie fundraiser which will help further support the nutrition needs of our clients and community members, as well as continue to raise awareness about this important program.”

People can order their cookie boxes beginning March 18, 2022 until April 8, 2022by visiting www.commcare.ca or https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/community-care-northumberland/events/easter-cookies-meals-on-wheels-community-care-northumberland/

Upon ordering, people can select the pickup date (April 13 or 14) and which local CCN office throughout Northumberland County they’d like to pick up their cookies (choosing from our new location at 1158 Division St., Cobourg, Campbellford or the Brighton office).

From each $20.00 cookie box sold, $7.00 will support the Meals on Wheels program.
