Supporting Meals on Wheels is Sweet: Easter Cookie Fundraiser Raises over $3000 to Benefit CCN’s Meals on Wheels program

In honour of March for Meals and just in time for the Easter holiday, Community Care Northumberland sold 451 boxes of Easter-themed cookie boxes in support of its Meals on Wheels program, raising a total of $3,157!

Each box contained 7 individually wrapped, beautifully decorated Easter cookies from Roda’s Kitchen sold for $20.00 to support CCN’s Meals on Wheels program.  This program offers frozen and hot meal delivery to clients throughout Northumberland County. From each $20.00 cookie box sold, $7.00 supported the Meals on Wheels program.

March which was National Nutrition Month and the annual March for Meals Month, is a key time for CCN to raise awareness in Northumberland about the importance of our Meals on Wheels program. CCN delivers over 3,000 meals a month to residents in Northumberland.

On top of selling cookies, local Mayors, volunteers, and others from the community joined CCN for the 25th anniversary of March for Meals this year, delivering meals with these ‘Community Champions’ to our clients.

“The cookie fundraiser and March for Meals help to further support the nutrition needs of our clients and community members, and raise awareness about this important program,” said Trish Baird, Chief Executive Officer of Community Care Northumberland.

We thank everyone for their continued support!
