Community Care Northumberland is proud to announce the success of its Annual Easter Cookies Fundraiser, which raised an incredible $5,800 to support its Meals on Wheels Program.
From March 10 to April 10, community members embraced the opportunity to give back by purchasing Easter-themed cookies, handmade by Roda’s Kitchen. This collaborative effort between Community Care Northumberland, Roda’s Kitchen, and local supporters has resulted in the funding of 828 nutritious meals for Meals on Wheels clients across the county.
“We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of support from our community, donors, volunteers, and especially Lucy and her team at Roda’s Kitchen,” said Trish Baird, CEO of Community Care Northumberland. “With this fundraiser, we’ve been able to ensure that 828 meals will be delivered to individuals in need, providing them with not just food, but a sense of care and connection.”
Meals on Wheelsis a cornerstone program for Community Care Northumberland, providing affordable, ready-to-eat meals to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and those recovering from illness or surgery. The funds raised from the Easter Cookie Fundraiser will continue to support the program’s mission, ensuring it can reach more residents who rely on this vital service.
“We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and generosity of our community and to Lucy at Roda’s Kitchen for her ongoing partnership,” said Sheri Birney, Manager of Nutrition Services. “We also want to thank our staff and volunteers who continue to support this program.
