FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Northumberland County, ON – April 17, 2023 – Community Care Northumberland (CCN) is thrilled to announce the success of its Easter Cookies fundraiser. Together in partnership with Roda’s Kitchen, our community and generous donors, CCN Easter Cookies raised enough funds to provide 1000 meals for CCN’s Meals on Wheels. A record-setting number of cookies were sold, with over 750 boxes of Easter Cookies purchased by cookie lovers in Northumberland!
“We are extremely grateful to our community, cookie lovers, staff, volunteers, and Lucy at Roda’s Kitchen for their tremendous support in making this year’s Easter Cookies fundraiser a resounding success,” said Trish Baird, CEO of CCN. “With their help, we were able to sell over 750 boxes of cookies, funding nearly 1000 meals for Meals on Wheels.”
In addition to the overwhelming support from the community, CCN received a last-minute donation from Lynn Hardy of RBC Dominion Securities, helping them reach their goal of delivering 1000 meals to those in need.
Meals on Wheels is a vital program offered by CCN that provides hot and frozen, nutritious meals to seniors and adults with disabilities who are unable to cook for themselves due to various reasons. The funds raised through the Easter Cookies fundraiser will directly benefit this program, ensuring that vulnerable individuals in the community have access to nutritious meals.
